Shop Service Technician

Holt Group seeks a skilled Shop Service Technician 3 to perform advanced diagnostics, repair, and maintenance on heavy equipment and machinery. In this on-site role, you will troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues, complete preventive maintenance, and ensure timely, high-quality repairs. You will interpret technical manuals and schematics, document all work, and uphold safety and cleanliness standards in the shop. The ideal candidate brings several years of heavy equipment or diesel repair experience, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safe, reliable service for our customers.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on heavy equipment and machinery.
• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and inspections to minimize equipment downtime.
• Use diagnostic tools, service manuals, and schematics to troubleshoot complex equipment problems.
• Document work performed, parts used, and test results in maintenance systems and service reports.
• Communicate findings, repair options, and timelines with supervisors and, when needed, customers.
• Ensure compliance with all shop safety standards, procedures, and environmental regulations.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians on proper repair methods and safety practices.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean, organized, and safe condition.
