Executive Underwriter or AVP Underwriting Director, Middle Market

Zurich Insurance Company Ltd. is seeking an Executive Underwriter or AVP Underwriting Director, Middle Market, to drive profitable growth in our commercial portfolio. You will underwrite complex middle market risks, analyze financials and loss data, and structure tailored insurance solutions. In this leadership-oriented role, you'll manage broker relationships, guide underwriting strategy, and mentor underwriters. Responsibilities

• Evaluate and underwrite middle market commercial accounts within authority limits to achieve profitable growth targets.
• Analyze financials, exposures, and loss histories to structure, price, and negotiate complex insurance programs.
• Develop and manage broker and client relationships to grow a high-quality, sustainable portfolio.
• Ensure underwriting decisions align with Zurich guidelines, risk appetite, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with actuarial, claims, and risk engineering teams to optimize solutions and pricing.
• Lead or mentor underwriters, providing technical guidance, referrals, and training support.
• Monitor portfolio performance, identify trends, and adjust underwriting strategies as needed.
• Contribute to product, underwriting, and process improvements to enhance efficiency and customer experience.
