CDL A Yard Jockey

Riverside Transport seeks a CDL A Yard Jockey to safely move and spot trailers within our Kansas City yard. In this on-site role, you'll position dry van and refrigerated trailers at docks and staging areas, support efficient loading and unloading, and help keep freight flowing on schedule. Responsibilities include precise maneuvering in tight spaces, performing pre- and post-trip inspections, using yard or electronic logs, and following all DOT and company safety rules. You'll work in a family-oriented, safety-first culture with modern equipment, driver support, and opportunities to grow.

Responsibilities

• Move and spot trailers between doors, yard spots, and staging areas using a CDL A yard tractor
• Perform accurate pre- and post-trip inspections on equipment
• Coordinate with dispatch, warehouse, and guard shack for trailer moves and priorities
• Safely maneuver in tight spaces and busy yards while following all safety procedures
• Maintain accurate logs or yard move records using company systems or electronic logs
• Report equipment issues or safety hazards promptly to supervision or maintenance
• Support on-time loading and unloading by positioning trailers as scheduled
• Follow all DOT, company, and site-specific safety and compliance rules
