Preschool Lead Teacher

Chesterbrook Academy seeks a Preschool Lead Teacher to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom for young children. In this role, you will design and implement developmentally appropriate, academically rich lesson plans that blend structured learning with purposeful play. You will observe and assess student progress, differentiate instruction, and maintain clear documentation. The Lead Teacher partners closely with families through regular communication, supports assistant teachers, and collaborates with colleagues. You will uphold school safety and inclusion standards while participating in ongoing training and professional development to grow your teaching practice.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate, standards-aligned lessons for preschool children
• Create a safe, nurturing, inclusive classroom environment that promotes social-emotional growth
• Blend structured academics with play-based learning activities and centers
• Observe, document, and assess child development and learning outcomes
• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and abilities
• Maintain classroom organization, routines, and adherence to safety and health protocols
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and classroom activities
• Collaborate with assistant teachers and colleagues to support school-wide initiatives
• Participate in professional development and implement best practices in early childhood education
• Support school events and family engagement activities as needed
