Floater Teacher

Chesterbrook Academy seeks a caring Floater Teacher to support classrooms across our private preschool and elementary programs. In this role, you'll step into various age groups as needed, assisting lead teachers with instructional activities, classroom management, and daily routines. You'll help implement developmentally appropriate, academically rich lessons that blend play and structured learning in a safe, nurturing environment. Responsibilities include supporting individualized instruction, supervising children indoors and outdoors, maintaining classroom cleanliness, documenting observations, and collaborating closely with teachers and families to promote each child's growth and well-being.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom coverage across multiple age groups as needed
• Support implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities
• Assist with classroom management and maintain a safe, nurturing environment
• Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, meals, and transitions
• Support individualized learning and small-group instruction
• Help prepare materials and maintain clean, organized classrooms
• Follow school policies and safety, health, and sanitation procedures
• Document basic observations and communicate relevant information to lead teachers
• Collaborate with staff and families to support each child's development
• Participate in trainings and professional development as required
