Lead HVAC Install Technician

Columbus Worthington Air seeks a Lead HVAC Install Technician to oversee residential and light commercial installations across central Ohio. In this role, you'll lead an install crew, plan and complete replacements and new system installs, and ensure work meets code, safety, and manufacturer standards. You'll diagnose installation issues, verify proper start up, and train junior techs on best practices. The position is customer-facing, requiring clear communication, clean workmanship, and respect for customers' homes and businesses. You'll follow company procedures, maintain tools and vehicles, and support a culture of safety, teamwork, and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Lead residential and light commercial HVAC installation projects
• Install, replace, and start up furnaces, air conditioners, and heat pumps
• Ensure all installs meet code, safety, and manufacturer specifications
• Diagnose and correct installation and airflow issues
• Train and mentor junior installers and helpers
• Communicate clearly with customers and provide courteous on-site service
• Complete job documentation, forms, and system start-up checklists
• Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in safe working order
• Follow all company safety policies and OSHA guidelines
• Coordinate with dispatch and warehouse to ensure materials readiness
