Lighting Maintenance Inc. (LMI) is hiring a Service Electrician with a Journeyman Electrician license to support our commercial, industrial, and government service operations. This is a hands-on, field-based role for a technician who knows lighting systems cold, can work independently, and takes pride in doing the job right the first time. If you're a problem-solver who can walk onto a site, diagnose issues quickly, and fix them correctly-keep reading.


Position Summary

You will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing lighting and electrical systems across a wide range of environments. Work includes everything from routine service calls to complex diagnostics and system upgrades.

This role requires strong technical ability, professionalism with customers, and the ability to operate a bucket truck safely.


Key Responsibilities


Lighting & Electrical Service

  • Troubleshoot and repair commercial and industrial lighting systems (120/208V and 277/480V).
  • Diagnose LED systems including drivers, fixtures, photocells, controls, wiring, and power issues.
  • Perform lighting upgrades, retrofits, and component replacements.
  • Install wiring, fixtures, and electrical components per code.
  • Identify upstream electrical issues and communicate solutions clearly.
  • Use locators and fault finders
  • Verify all work is fully operational before leaving the site.
  • Use meters, testing equipment, and tools to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.


Bucket Truck & Aerial Work

  • Safely operate bucket trucks and aerial lifts in active environments.
  • Conduct daily vehicle and equipment inspections.
  • Work at heights and in varying weather conditions.


Qualifications

  • Journeyman Electrician License (Required)
  • Minimum 5 years experience in lighting/electrical service (10+ years preferred)
  • Strong experience in commercial and/or industrial lighting systems
  • Solid understanding of NEC and electrical codes
  • Experience operating bucket trucks / aerial lifts
  • Ability to work independently and make sound field decisions
  • Valid driver's license (CDL is a plus)
