Registered Veterinary Technician

Redwood Animal Hospital in El Cerrito, CA is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our collaborative, compassionate team. In this role, you will support veterinarians with exams, treatments, anesthesia, surgery, dentistry, and imaging, while ensuring exceptional patient care and client communication. Responsibilities include monitoring anesthesia, placing IV catheters, collecting and processing lab samples, administering medications, maintaining accurate medical records, and educating clients on preventive care. You'll work closely with a supportive team, gain experience with diverse cases, and contribute to a positive, community-focused practice.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians with exams, treatments, and procedures
• Monitor and manage anesthesia during surgeries and dental procedures
• Place IV catheters and administer medications, fluids, and vaccines as directed
• Collect, process, and run diagnostic lab samples and imaging
• Provide high-quality nursing care, patient monitoring, and pain management
• Educate clients on preventive care, treatment plans, and home care instructions
• Maintain accurate, detailed medical records and documentation
• Ensure clean, safe, and well-stocked treatment, surgery, and exam areas
• Support a collaborative team environment and assist in staff training as needed
