Grayling Hospital for Animals is seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician to provide high-quality nursing care to companion animals in our full-service clinic. Responsibilities include assisting veterinarians with exams, surgery, anesthesia, dentistry, radiology, lab testing, and patient monitoring. The LVT will educate clients on preventative care, medications, and post-op instructions, maintain accurate medical records, and ensure a clean, safe treatment environment. Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to companion animals, including restraint, treatments, and monitoring
- Assist veterinarians with exams, diagnostics, and medical procedures
- Perform anesthesia induction, monitoring, and recovery under veterinary supervision
- Provide dental prophylaxis, including scaling, polishing, and dental radiographs as directed
- Collect and process laboratory samples; run in-house lab tests and interpret basic results
- Obtain and position patients for radiographs while following safety protocols
- Educate clients on preventative care, medication administration, nutrition, and post-operative instructions
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, charts, and treatment notes
- Ensure cleanliness, organization, and infection control in exam, treatment, and surgery areas
- Assist with inventory management and proper handling of medications and supplies
