Preschool Teacher Assistant

Lutheran Services Florida seeks a Preschool Teacher Assistant to support nurturing, developmentally appropriate care for young children in our Head Start program. This role assists the lead teacher with classroom routines, learning activities, and behavior support while ensuring children's safety and wellbeing. The assistant helps prepare materials, maintains a clean, engaging environment, supports meals and toileting, and promotes social, emotional, and cognitive development. Responsibilities

• Assist lead teacher with classroom activities and lesson implementation
• Supervise children to ensure safety and wellbeing
• Support social, emotional, and cognitive development through play-based learning
• Prepare and organize classroom materials and learning centers
• Help with meals, toileting, and daily routines following health and safety standards
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and nurturing classroom environment
• Document observations and share relevant information with teaching staff
• Build positive relationships with children and families
• Follow program, licensing, and health regulations
• Participate in team meetings and required trainings
