Ditch Witch West seeks a Heavy Equipment Shop Mechanic / Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain trenchers, HDD rigs, vacuum excavators, and related underground construction equipment. In this shop-based role, you'll perform troubleshooting, hydraulic and electrical repairs, engine work, and preventative maintenance, while documenting services and ensuring safety standards. Work closely with service advisors and parts staff to support contractor and utility customers. Responsibilities

  • Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on Ditch Witch and related heavy equipment
  • Perform engine, drivetrain, hydraulic, and electrical repairs and adjustments
  • Complete preventative maintenance and inspections to manufacturer standards
  • Use diagnostic tools, software, and service manuals to troubleshoot equipment
  • Document all work performed, parts used, and test results accurately
  • Collaborate with service advisors and parts personnel to plan efficient repairs
  • Follow all shop safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
  • Participate in factory and in-house technical training to stay current on equipment
  • Support a customer-focused culture through reliable, high-quality workmanship
