2nd Shift Diesel Mechanic

Waste Connections is seeking a dependable 2nd Shift Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair our refuse truck fleet supporting essential environmental services. In this full-time role, you'll perform inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical and braking systems, and complete preventive maintenance to ensure safe, reliable operations. You'll work in a safety-focused, team-oriented shop environment with strong procedures, steady schedules, and opportunities for training, advancement, and long-term career growth in the transportation and warehousing industry.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel trucks and refuse equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections per company standards
• Troubleshoot engines, hydraulics, electrical, and braking systems
• Use diagnostic tools and repair manuals to identify issues
• Complete work orders and maintenance records accurately
• Follow all safety, environmental, and PPE procedures
• Collaborate with drivers and supervisors on equipment needs
• Respond to breakdowns and support 2nd shift operations
