Waste Connections is seeking a 2nd Shift Diesel Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of refuse trucks and heavy equipment supporting essential environmental services. In this safety-focused role, you will perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on diesel engines, hydraulic and electrical systems, and braking components to keep our trucks operating reliably. Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostics, repair, and maintenance on diesel trucks and related equipment during 2nd shift
- Complete scheduled preventive maintenance and safety inspections to ensure fleet reliability
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and brake systems
- Document all work performed, parts used, and inspections in maintenance systems
- Follow all company, OSHA, and DOT safety standards and environmental procedures
- Collaborate with drivers and operations teams to prioritize repairs and reduce downtime
- Use shop tools, diagnostic equipment, and manuals to efficiently identify issues
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop work area on the 2nd shift
