Truck Driver CDL A OTR

Ryder System is hiring a Truck Driver CDL A OTR to support nationwide transportation operations. In this role, you'll safely operate late-model tractors, haul freight between Ryder and customer facilities, and follow all DOT/FMCSA regulations. Responsibilities include pre- and post-trip inspections, accurate logkeeping with ELD systems, on-time pickups/deliveries, and basic freight securement. You'll work closely with dispatch, maintain professional customer service at docks, and uphold Ryder's strong safety culture and equipment care standards while on the road.

Responsibilities

• Operate CDL A tractor-trailer on OTR routes to move freight between Ryder and customer locations.
• Perform thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report defects promptly.
• Comply with DOT/FMCSA regulations, hours-of-service rules, and Ryder safety policies.
• Use ELD and dispatch systems to maintain accurate logs and communicate trip status.
• Secure freight safely and verify load counts, paperwork, and delivery instructions.
• Collaborate with dispatch and planners to optimize routes and meet on-time delivery goals.
• Provide professional customer service at shipper and receiver facilities.
• Maintain clean, well-cared-for equipment and report maintenance needs immediately.
