The YMCA is seeking a dedicated Teacher to join our Education, Training & E-Learning department. In this role, you will plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons that support academic growth, social-emotional development, and inclusion. You will create a safe, positive classroom environment, communicate regularly with families, and collaborate with staff to support youth success. Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver age-appropriate, standards-aligned lessons that support academic and social-emotional learning.
- Create and maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that reflects YMCA values.
- Differentiate instruction and adapt materials to meet diverse learning styles, abilities, and cultural backgrounds.
- Integrate character development, teamwork, and positive behavior support into daily instruction and activities.
- Use technology and digital platforms to support e-learning, enrichment, and communication when appropriate.
- Monitor and document student attendance, participation, and academic and behavioral progress.
- Communicate regularly and professionally with parents and guardians regarding student progress, goals, and concerns.
- Collaborate with YMCA staff and volunteers to coordinate programming, enrichment activities, and family engagement events.
- Follow all YMCA, state, and local policies regarding safety, child protection, confidentiality, and mandated reporting.
- Maintain organized, clean, and welcoming learning spaces, ensuring proper set-up and breakdown of materials.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development to enhance instructional practice.
- Support and help lead special events, family nights, and community-focused projects that align with YMCA mission areas.
