The YMCA is seeking a Resource Aide to support education, training, and e-learning programs that advance youth development and lifelong learning. This role assists with organizing instructional materials, coordinating program logistics, and providing on-site support to staff, volunteers, and participants. The Resource Aide helps maintain learning spaces, tracks supplies and resources, and supports data entry and basic reporting. Responsibilities

  • Support set-up and breakdown of classrooms, training rooms, and e-learning spaces for youth and adult programs
  • Prepare, organize, and distribute educational materials, supplies, and equipment for programs and classes
  • Greet participants and families, answer basic questions, and direct them to appropriate staff or resources
  • Assist instructors with attendance, classroom logistics, and basic behavior support within YMCA guidelines
  • Provide basic technical assistance with computers, tablets, projectors, and e-learning platforms as directed
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized program spaces in accordance with YMCA policies and safety standards
  • Help maintain simple records, such as attendance logs and supply inventories, and assist with basic data entry
  • Support outreach efforts by preparing flyers, updating information boards, and sharing program information with participants
  • Promote an inclusive, welcoming environment that respects diversity and supports positive youth development
  • Follow all YMCA policies and procedures regarding safety, confidentiality, and child protection

Required Skills

  • Basic computer skills (email, word processing, data entry)
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn e-learning platforms and educational technology
  • Organization and time management skills
  • Attention to detail in preparing materials and maintaining records
  • Customer service and communication skills (in-person, phone, and basic written communication)
  • Ability to work effectively with children, youth, families, and diverse community members
  • Classroom or group support skills, including following behavior management guidance from instructors
  • Basic problem-solving skills and ability to follow instructions and established procedures
  • Ability to lift and move supplies and set up learning spaces as needed
  • Bilingual communication skills preferred (e.g., Spanish/English)
