The YMCA is seeking an Early Learning Coach to support high-quality early childhood education across our programs. In this role, you will mentor and coach teachers, model best practices, and help implement developmentally appropriate curriculum that supports the whole child. You will observe classrooms, provide feedback, and collaborate with staff to improve instruction, family engagement, and inclusion. Responsibilities
- Observe early learning classrooms and provide strengths-based coaching and feedback to teachers and staff.
- Model effective, developmentally appropriate instructional strategies and classroom management techniques.
- Support educators in implementing curriculum and aligning practice with early learning standards and YMCA quality expectations.
- Use child assessment data and observations to help teachers plan instruction and track developmental and school readiness outcomes.
- Design and deliver in-person and virtual professional development, trainings, and e-learning modules for early learning staff.
- Collaborate with program directors and coordinators to develop and monitor continuous quality improvement plans for early learning programs.
- Assist with accreditation, quality rating, and licensing compliance efforts related to early childhood programs.
- Promote inclusive, culturally responsive practices and positive family engagement in all early learning settings.
- Document coaching sessions, maintain accurate records, and report on progress toward program and professional development goals.
- Uphold YMCA policies, health and safety standards, and child protection protocols in all program activities.
