Hall Monitor

The YMCA is seeking a Hall Monitor to help maintain a safe, orderly, and welcoming environment in our education spaces. In this role, you will supervise hallways and common areas, greet and guide students and visitors, and reinforce behavior expectations aligned with YMCA values. You will respond calmly to minor conflicts, support emergency and safety procedures, and communicate concerns to staff and families. Ideal candidates are attentive, respectful, and committed to youth development, inclusion, and building positive relationships within a diverse school community.

Responsibilities

• Monitor hallways, common areas, and entry points to ensure a safe, orderly school environment
• Enforce school and YMCA behavior expectations with consistency and fairness
• Greet and direct students, staff, and visitors, providing assistance as needed
• Respond calmly to conflicts or minor incidents and report issues to appropriate staff
• Support emergency drills and follow all safety and security protocols
• Document incidents and communicate clearly with teachers, administrators, and families as directed
