ConGlobal is hiring a Railroad Switcher/Brakeman to support intermodal rail operations in a fast-paced terminal environment. In this role, you will operate track switches, couple and uncouple railcars, and help build and break down trains to keep freight moving safely and efficiently. You'll work outdoors around heavy equipment, using radios and hand signals to coordinate with engineers and ground crews while following strict safety rules. Responsibilities

  • Operate rail switches to safely route railcars within the terminal
  • Couple and uncouple railcars using hand brakes, cut levers, and related equipment
  • Assist in building, spotting, and breaking down trains for intermodal operations
  • Follow all FRA, company, and terminal safety rules, signals, and procedures
  • Perform visual inspections of railcars and tracks; report defects or hazards
  • Use radios and hand signals to coordinate movements with locomotive engineers and ground crews
  • Maintain accurate switching records, car placement logs, and related documentation
  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions and adapt to variable schedules and shifts
  • Collaborate with terminal, drayage, and logistics teams to meet service timelines
  • Participate in ongoing safety, operational, and equipment training
