Driver
GMS Company is seeking a reliable Driver to safely deliver specialty building materials to commercial and residential job sites. In this Transportation & Logistics role, you will operate company trucks, load and secure wallboard, ceilings, steel framing, insulation, and related products, and provide professional on-site customer service. Responsibilities include conducting pre- and post-trip inspections, following DOT and GMS safety standards, and coordinating closely with dispatch and warehouse teams to ensure accurate, on-time deliveries. Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles to transport building materials to commercial and residential job sites
- Load, secure, and unload wallboard, ceilings, steel framing, insulation, and related products
- Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and complete required logs
- Follow DOT and company safety policies, including proper load securement and PPE use
- Provide professional, courteous service to customers and job site personnel
- Coordinate with dispatch and warehouse teams to ensure on-time, accurate deliveries
- Report vehicle issues, incidents, and delivery challenges promptly
- Maintain clean, organized vehicle and assist with basic upkeep
- Use routing tools or GPS to optimize delivery routes
- Support teammates in yard/warehouse tasks as needed
Required Skills
- Commercial driving (CDL preferred)
- Safe operation of box trucks/flatbeds
- Load securement and material handling
- Forklift or boom/crane operation
- Knowledge of DOT regulations
