CDL Delivery Driver

GMS Company is seeking a CDL Delivery Driver to safely deliver wallboard, steel framing, insulation, and related building materials to commercial and residential job sites. In this field-based role, you'll operate CDL trucks, load and secure materials, perform inspections, and ensure on-time, accurate deliveries while following all DOT and company safety standards. You'll work closely with dispatch, warehouse teams, and customers, providing professional service on every delivery. Responsibilities

• Safely operate CDL delivery trucks to transport building materials to commercial and residential job sites
• Load, secure, and unload wallboard, steel framing, insulation, and related products using proper material-handling techniques
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and maintain accurate delivery logs and paperwork
• Follow DOT, company safety, and traffic regulations at all times
• Coordinate with dispatch, warehouse staff, and customers to ensure on-time, accurate deliveries
• Provide professional, customer-focused service at job sites and resolve basic delivery issues
• Report vehicle defects, incidents, or delays promptly to supervisors
• Assist team members in the yard or warehouse as needed to support operations
• Use forklifts, boom or flatbed equipment, and related tools safely and efficiently
• Participate in ongoing safety and skills training and contribute to process improvements

Required Skills

• CDL Class A or B truck driving
• Safe operation of flatbed or boom trucks
• Defensive driving and DOT compliance
• Vehicle inspection and basic maintenance
• Load securement with straps, chains, and tarps
• Forklift and material-handling equipment operation
• Knowledge of building materials (wallboard, steel, insulation)
• Reading delivery tickets and basic paperwork accuracy
• Route planning and time management
• Customer service at construction job sites
