GMS Company is seeking a reliable Driver to deliver specialty building materials to commercial and residential job sites. In this Transportation & Logistics role, you will safely operate company trucks, load and secure wallboard, steel, and insulation, and perform thorough vehicle inspections. You'll work closely with dispatch, warehouse staff, and customers to ensure on-time, accurate deliveries while upholding strict safety and DOT standards. Responsibilities

  • Safely operate company delivery trucks to transport building materials to commercial and residential job sites
  • Load, secure, and unload wallboard, steel framing, insulation, and related materials using proper material handling techniques
  • Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and complete required logs and documentation
  • Follow all DOT, company, and site-specific safety policies and procedures at all times
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse staff, and customers regarding delivery schedules and site conditions
  • Provide courteous on-site service, verifying orders and obtaining required signatures
  • Report vehicle issues, delays, or delivery problems promptly to supervision
  • Assist warehouse team with staging, wrapping, and organizing material when not driving
  • Use GPS, routing tools, and delivery paperwork to ensure accurate and timely deliveries
  • Participate in ongoing safety and training programs to maintain certifications and driving qualifications
