Heavy Diesel Fleet Mechanic

Waste Connections is hiring a Heavy Diesel Fleet Mechanic to keep our refuse and recycling trucks safe, reliable, and road-ready. In this role, you'll perform inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on heavy diesel vehicles, including hydraulic, electrical, and braking systems. You'll handle preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, and emergency repairs while working in a safety-first, team-oriented shop. Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy diesel trucks and waste collection equipment
• Perform preventive maintenance, DOT inspections, and safety checks on fleet vehicles
• Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, braking, and engine systems
• Maintain accurate repair records and follow company and regulatory standards
• Collaborate with operations to minimize downtime and prioritize repairs
• Use diagnostic tools and service manuals to identify and resolve mechanical issues
• Order and track parts, ensuring proper inventory and cost control
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized shop
• Support on-call or emergency repairs as needed to keep routes running
