Papé Machinery Inc., a leading Western U.S. equipment dealer, is seeking a skilled Field Mechanic to support customers in the wholesale equipment trade. In this role, you'll travel to customer sites to diagnose and repair agricultural, construction, and forestry machinery, performing both emergency service and scheduled maintenance. Using diagnostic tools, service manuals, and your mechanical expertise, you'll troubleshoot diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems, order and install parts, and ensure repairs meet strict safety and quality standards. You'll communicate directly with customers and dispatch, complete accurate service documentation, and provide basic operator guidance to help extend equipment life. Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on agricultural, construction, and forestry equipment in the field
  • Perform scheduled maintenance, inspections, and adjustments to ensure optimal equipment performance and uptime
  • Travel to customer sites in service truck, document work performed, and communicate clearly with customers and service dispatch
  • Use diagnostic software, technical manuals, and schematics to troubleshoot complex equipment problems
  • Order and install parts, verify repairs through testing, and ensure work meets safety and quality standards
  • Maintain clean, organized tools and service vehicle while following all company and OSHA safety practices
  • Provide basic operator training and equipment care recommendations to customers
  • Complete service reports, time entries, and paperwork accurately and on time
