Lead Intermodal Equipment Operator

ConGlobal is seeking a Lead Intermodal Equipment Operator to support safe, efficient terminal operations in our fast-paced rail and container yard. In this role, you'll operate yard hostlers, top picks, and forklifts to move containers and trailers while leading a team of operators. You'll coordinate daily work with dispatch and gate, enforce safety and PPE standards, and perform basic equipment and container inspections. You'll also help train new operators, support yard inventory accuracy, and use yard management systems to track moves that keep freight flowing across the global supply chain.

Responsibilities

• Operate intermodal equipment such as yard hostlers, top picks, and forklifts to move containers and trailers safely
• Lead and direct daily equipment operations in the rail and container yard to meet service and productivity goals
• Perform basic inspections and report equipment or container damage, safety hazards, and maintenance needs
• Coordinate with dispatch, gate, and terminal teams to prioritize moves and minimize delays
• Train and mentor equipment operators on safe operating procedures and terminal rules
• Enforce safety policies, PPE use, and proper load handling in all yard operations
• Use terminal or yard management systems and radios to receive, update, and confirm work assignments
• Support continuous improvement by identifying process issues and recommending operational fixes
• Assist with yard checks, inventory control, and accurate container placement
• Complete required logs, checklists, and documentation for moves, inspections, and incidents
