Lutheran Services Florida seeks an Assistant Director of Programs to support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of community-based services. Reporting to senior leadership, this role helps oversee multiple programs in child welfare, mental health, substance abuse, and education. The Assistant Director will guide staff, monitor budgets and contracts, ensure compliance, and use data to drive continuous improvement. Working in a collaborative, mission-driven culture, this position builds strong community partnerships and advances equitable, trauma-informed services across Florida.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee planning, implementation, and evaluation of community-based programs across assigned service areas.
  • Lead, mentor, and support program staff to ensure high-quality service delivery and adherence to LSF standards.
  • Monitor program budgets, contracts, and grant requirements; ensure compliance with funding and regulatory guidelines.
  • Use data and outcomes to drive continuous quality improvement and inform strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to strengthen community impact and referral networks.
  • Develop and refine program policies, procedures, and best practices to align with organizational goals.
  • Prepare accurate, timely reports for leadership, funders, and regulatory agencies.
  • Support grant development efforts through program design input, data, and narrative contributions.
  • Promote a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and trauma-informed care within all programs.
  • Represent LSF at community meetings, coalitions, and events to strengthen visibility and partnerships.
