HandledNow, a logistics and freight solutions company based in Indianapolis, is seeking a Local Truck Driver to support our transportation and warehousing operations. In this role, you'll operate company trucks on local routes, ensuring safe, timely pickup and delivery of freight for regional customers. Responsibilities include performing pre- and post-trip inspections, loading and securing freight, maintaining accurate DOT and delivery documentation, and communicating closely with dispatch and warehouse teams. You'll represent HandledNow at customer locations, providing professional, courteous service while upholding our values of reliability, safety, and accountability. Responsibilities

  • Operate local trucks to transport freight safely and on schedule within assigned routes
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance needs
  • Load, secure, and unload freight in compliance with company and DOT safety standards
  • Maintain accurate delivery logs, bills of lading, and electronic logging device (ELD) records
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, warehouse staff, and customers regarding delivery status
  • Follow all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and Handled
  • Now safety policies
  • Provide professional customer service at pickup and delivery locations
  • Report incidents, delays, or route issues promptly to dispatch

Required Skills

  • Commercial truck operation (CDL)
  • Vehicle inspection and basic maintenance checks
  • Freight loading, unloading, and load securement
  • Electronic logging devices (ELD) and logbook management
  • Route planning and time management
  • Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations
  • Use of pallet jacks and/or forklifts
  • Bill of lading and delivery documentation
  • Defensive driving and safety practices
  • Basic customer service and communication
