Drum Teacher

Music & Arts seeks a Drum Teacher to provide engaging private and group percussion lessons in our retail store. In this part-time role, you'll teach students of all ages and skill levels, create individualized lesson plans, prepare students for recitals and school performances, and track progress. You'll collaborate with store staff to support enrollments, schedule lessons, and recommend instruments, accessories, and method books. The ideal candidate has strong percussion technique, prior teaching or coaching experience, solid music theory knowledge, and a passion for empowering students through music education in a friendly, inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide private and group drum and percussion lessons to students of varying ages and levels
• Develop individualized lesson plans aligned with student goals and school or performance needs
• Teach proper technique, rhythm, reading skills, and foundational music theory
• Prepare students for recitals, auditions, and school ensemble performances
• Assess and track student progress, providing feedback to students and parents
• Maintain an organized, safe, and student-focused lesson environment in the store
• Collaborate with store staff to manage scheduling and student enrollments
• Recommend appropriate instruments, accessories, and method books to support learning
• Use a variety of teaching methods and materials to engage diverse learners
• Uphold Music & Arts' service standards and contribute to a positive, inclusive culture
