Brass Teacher

Music & Arts is seeking a Brass Teacher to provide high quality private and small group lessons in our retail store. You will teach brass techniques, music reading, and performance skills to beginner through intermediate students, helping them build confidence and achieve school and personal music goals. Partner with store staff and school service reps to support local band programs, recommend appropriate instruments and accessories, and maintain accurate schedules and student records. Ideal candidates are strong brass players, passionate educators, and excellent communicators who thrive in a student focused, collaborative retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide private and small group brass lessons to beginner and intermediate students in store
• Teach fundamental and intermediate brass techniques, music reading, and ensemble skills
• Create lesson plans tailored to individual student goals and school band requirements
• Assess student progress and communicate regularly with parents and guardians
• Coordinate with store staff and school service representatives to support local band programs
• Recommend appropriate instruments, accessories, and method books to students and families
• Maintain accurate schedules, attendance, and student records
• Prepare students for school performances, auditions, and recitals
• Uphold a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
• Participate in store events and outreach to promote lessons and music education
