Insurance Agent

Horace Mann seeks an Insurance Agent to serve K-12 educators with tailored auto, home, life, and retirement solutions. In this client-facing role, you'll build and manage a book of business, conduct needs-based consultations, and recommend comprehensive coverage and savings strategies. Responsibilities include prospecting within the education community, presenting proposals, and guiding clients through underwriting and claims processes. You'll collaborate with internal teams, maintain regulatory compliance, and leverage ongoing training and development in a mission-driven, education-focused culture.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage a portfolio of insurance and retirement clients within the K-12 education community
• Conduct needs-based financial and insurance consultations with educators and school employees
• Recommend auto, home, life, supplemental insurance, and retirement products tailored to client goals
• Prospect and network within schools and educator organizations to generate new business
• Prepare and present insurance proposals and explain coverage options and policy details
• Guide clients through the application, underwriting, and claims processes
• Ensure all activities comply with insurance regulations and company policies
• Maintain accurate client records and use CRM tools to track activity and renewals
• Collaborate with internal underwriting, service, and marketing teams to support client needs
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development programs
