Boston Standard / New England Ductless is seeking an HVAC Technician to service, troubleshoot, and install heating, cooling, and ductless mini-split systems for residential and light commercial customers across Greater Boston. In this hands-on role, you'll perform diagnostics, repairs, maintenance, and installations while delivering respectful, customer-first service in occupied homes. You'll work within a collaborative, craftsmanship-focused team that values reliability, technical excellence, and continuous learning. Technicians receive ongoing training, support, and clear paths for growth in a stable, year-round construction and home services environment.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain residential and light commercial HVAC and ductless mini-split systems
  • Perform quality installations of heating, cooling, and ductless equipment to manufacturer and code standards
  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance, system checks, and performance testing
  • Handle refrigerants safely, including evacuation, recovery, and charging per EPA guidelines
  • Interpret work orders, manuals, and technical diagrams to plan and complete jobs efficiently
  • Communicate findings, options, and recommendations clearly to homeowners and light commercial clients
  • Document work performed, parts used, and system readings accurately in service software or paperwork
  • Follow safety protocols, company policies, and local/state mechanical and building codes
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area, vehicle, tools, and equipment
  • Collaborate with dispatchers, installers, and other technicians to ensure timely, high-quality service delivery
