Executive Underwriter / AVP Underwriting Director
Zurich Insurance Company Ltd. seeks an Executive Underwriter / AVP Underwriting Director to lead complex commercial insurance underwriting within our Insurance department. You will own a profitable portfolio, structure tailored solutions, and underwrite large and specialized risks for corporate and financial institution clients. Responsibilities include referral and authority oversight, pricing and terms negotiation, portfolio management, and compliance with underwriting governance. You will mentor underwriters, collaborate with distribution and risk engineering, and support product and sustainability initiatives. Responsibilities
- Lead underwriting of complex commercial and financial institution risks within assigned portfolio.
- Set and negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to achieve profitable growth and target returns.
- Manage portfolio performance, monitoring loss ratios, aggregates, and risk concentrations.
- Provide referral and authority oversight, ensuring adherence to Zurich underwriting governance and risk appetite.
- Develop and maintain strong broker, client, and partner relationships to support new business and retention.
- Collaborate with actuarial, risk engineering, claims, and distribution to structure tailored solutions.
- Mentor and coach underwriters, supporting skills development and succession planning.
- Support product development, sustainability initiatives, and underwriting guidelines enhancement.
- Contribute to strategic planning, forecasting, and reporting for the Insurance department.
- Champion Zurich's inclusive, ethical, and collaborative culture and promote best practices across teams.
