Lead HVAC Installer

Burns&McBride is seeking a Lead HVAC Installer to oversee installation of residential and light commercial heating, cooling, and indoor air quality systems across the greater Wilmington area. In this customer-first, safety-focused role, you'll lead small crews, review job plans, ensure code-compliant installation, perform start ups, and train junior technicians. You'll interact directly with homeowners and property managers, explain system operation, and complete accurate documentation. Responsibilities

• Lead and perform installation of residential and light commercial HVAC and indoor air quality systems
• Supervise and mentor junior installers, assigning tasks and reviewing work quality
• Read and interpret plans, specs, and wiring diagrams to ensure code-compliant installations
• Perform system start-up, testing, and commissioning; verify safe and efficient operation
• Communicate with customers, explain system operation, and address basic concerns on-site
• Ensure adherence to all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
• Complete job documentation, material usage, and installation checklists accurately
• Coordinate with dispatch and sales to clarify scopes, schedules, and job readiness
• Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment in clean, safe working condition
• Identify opportunities for system improvements, add-ons, or maintenance agreements
