Waste Management (WM) seeks a Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations supporting essential waste and environmental services. In this on-site role, you will oversee technicians maintaining fleets, compactors, and facility systems, with a strong focus on safety, reliability, and compliance. Responsibilities include planning preventive and corrective maintenance, managing vendors and parts inventory, tracking KPIs, and controlling budgets. You'll foster a culture of integrity, inclusion, and innovation while helping WM deliver dependable, sustainable solutions to communities and customers.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily maintenance operations for WM facilities and equipment to ensure safety and reliability
- Plan and schedule preventive and corrective maintenance for trucks, compactors, and plant systems
- Supervise and coach maintenance technicians, providing training and performance feedback
- Coordinate with operations to minimize equipment downtime and support service delivery
- Manage vendor relationships, service contracts, and parts inventory
- Monitor maintenance KPIs, safety metrics, and compliance with environmental and regulatory standards
- Develop and manage maintenance budgets, cost controls, and asset life-cycle planning
- Implement and continuously improve maintenance procedures, SOPs, and documentation
- Ensure strict adherence to WM safety culture, lockout/tagout, and risk-reduction practices
- Support sustainability and reliability projects to improve efficiency and reduce environmental impact
