Team Captain On Field Operations

As a Team Captain at DICK'S Sporting Goods, you lead on-floor retail operations to create an exceptional experience for every athlete and customer. You coordinate coverage across key departments, support opening and closing routines, and ensure the sales floor is organized, safe, and game-day ready. You coach associates in service standards, help execute visual merchandising and promotions, and monitor inventory needs. Partnering with store leaders, you drive sales and service goals, resolve routine customer issues, and model our performance-driven, team-oriented culture every shift.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-floor execution of daily store operations during assigned shifts.
• Coach and support associates to deliver outstanding customer service to athletes and families.
• Coordinate coverage for key areas including footwear, apparel, team sports, and front-end.
• Support opening and closing routines, including readiness checks and recovery.
• Monitor inventory levels on the sales floor and communicate replenishment needs.
• Help implement visual merchandising and promotional setups to brand standards.
• Reinforce safety, loss prevention, and store cleanliness expectations.
• Assist with training new associates on service standards and basic procedures.
• Partner with managers to track performance metrics and meet sales and service goals.
• Resolve routine customer issues and escalate complex concerns when needed.
