Accounting Specialist

Active911 is seeking an Accounting Specialist to support accurate, timely financial operations for our mission-critical public safety software. In this role, you'll handle day-to-day accounting, including AP/AR, bank and account reconciliations, expense processing, and assisting with month-end close and financial reporting. You'll collaborate with small, cross-functional teams to provide clear, reliable financial data, support budgeting and forecasting, and help improve accounting processes that keep our fast-moving, emergency-response focused business running smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Process and maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable records
• Perform regular bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Support month-end close activities and assist with journal entries
• Prepare and maintain financial reports and summaries for leadership
• Track expenses, invoices, and payments to ensure accuracy and timeliness
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance tracking
• Maintain accurate documentation and audit-ready financial records
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support operational decisions
• Identify and help implement improvements to accounting processes and tools
