Child Care Group Leader

Boys & Girls Clubs of America seeks a Substitute Child Care Group Leader to support local Club sites on an as-needed basis. In this role, you'll step in to lead after-school groups, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment for youth. Responsibilities include supervising members, facilitating homework help and enrichment activities, reinforcing positive behavior, and upholding BGCA policies and safety standards. You'll collaborate with Club staff to deliver programs that promote academic success, healthy lifestyles, and character development during critical out-of-school hours.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision and active engagement of youth during after-school program hours
• Implement planned activities, including homework help, enrichment, and recreation
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive environment aligned with BGCA standards
• Manage group behavior using positive guidance and clear expectations
• Follow all safety, child protection, and emergency procedures
• Communicate observations and concerns to full-time Club staff
• Take attendance and support basic documentation or incident reporting as needed
• Set up, clean up, and organize program spaces and materials
• Model positive behavior, respect, and leadership for Club members
• Collaborate with staff to support academic success, healthy lifestyles, and character development goals
