Yard Hostler

Southern Glazer's Wine & Spirits seeks a Night Yard Hostler to safely move trailers and equipment within our distribution yard. In this role, you will position trailers at doors, relocate equipment to support warehouse loading schedules, and perform pre- and post-trip inspections. You'll maintain accurate yard logs, communicate closely with dispatch, warehouse, and drivers, and follow all DOT, safety, and PPE requirements. This position requires reliable night-shift availability, strong awareness of surroundings, and the ability to work in a fast-paced wholesale distribution environment as part of a safety-focused team.

Responsibilities

• Safely move and spot trailers within the yard to support loading and unloading schedules
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on yard trucks and trailers
• Maintain accurate yard logs and communicate trailer locations to dispatch and warehouse teams
• Coordinate with drivers, warehouse staff, and supervisors to prioritize trailer moves
• Follow all DOT, company, and OSHA safety policies and use required PPEReport equipment issues or hazards promptly for repair or correction
• Work night shifts in varying weather conditions in a fast-paced yard environment
