Extra Board Driver

Ryder System is hiring an Extra Board Driver to support flexible transportation needs across our North American network. In this role, you'll cover varied routes, shifts, and customer accounts, ensuring safe, on-time deliveries that uphold Ryder's safety-first, customer-focused standards. Responsibilities include operating Ryder equipment, performing DOT-compliant inspections, securing freight, and maintaining accurate logs and paperwork. You'll work closely with dispatch and warehouse teams, adapt quickly to changing assignments, and help deliver reliable logistics solutions for leading brands.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate Ryder trucks on extra board routes covering varied schedules, shifts, and customer needs
• Perform timely pickups and deliveries while following DOT regulations and Ryder safety standards
• Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections, reporting defects and ensuring equipment readiness
• Secure and handle freight properly, minimizing damage and delays
• Communicate professionally with dispatch, customers, and warehouse staff on route status and issues
• Accurately complete logs, paperwork, and electronic records as required
• Adapt to changing assignments, routes, and locations across Ryder's transportation network
• Support Ryder's safety-first culture by following company policies and participating in safety meetings
