CoolSys is seeking a Refrigeration Installation Journeyman to install and start up commercial and industrial refrigeration systems on construction projects. In this skilled labor role, you'll read blueprints, set equipment, run and braze piping, complete electrical terminations, and assist with system commissioning to deliver safe, efficient, and reliable HVAC-R solutions. Working in a safety-first, field-based environment, you'll collaborate with project teams, mentor apprentices, and ensure high-quality, code-compliant installations that support our customer-focused, technically excellent culture and long-term, energy-efficient solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Install, pipe, and set commercial and industrial refrigeration and HVAC-R equipment per plans and specs
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and job layouts to plan installations
  • Braise, solder, and pressure-test refrigerant and glycol piping to company and code standards
  • Perform electrical terminations, controls wiring, and assist with start-up and commissioning
  • Verify system performance, troubleshoot installation issues, and complete punch-list items
  • Document work performed, materials used, and communicate job status with foremen and project managers
  • Follow all Cool
  • Sys and OSHA safety procedures, including PPE, lockout/tagout, and safe lifting practices
  • Train and mentor apprentices and helpers on proper installation techniques and safety
  • Maintain tools, company vehicle, and jobsite organization to ensure efficient, high-quality work
  • Represent Cool
  • Sys professionally with customers, demonstrating integrity, teamwork, and a customer-first mindset
