CoolSys, a leader in sustainable, energy-efficient HVACR solutions, is seeking an HVAC/R Service Technician to join our HVAC Wholesale team. In this role, you will install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial and industrial HVAC/R systems, ensuring optimal performance and energy savings for clients across North America. You will diagnose system issues, perform preventive maintenance, and provide exceptional customer service on-site. Responsibilities
- Travel to customer sites to diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial and industrial HVAC/R systems, ensuring reliable operation and energy efficiency.
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on rooftop units, split systems, rack systems, refrigeration cases, and related HVAC/R equipment.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration issues using diagnostic tools, schematics, and technical documentation to identify root causes.
- Install, start up, and commission HVAC/R components and systems in accordance with Cool
- Sys standards, manufacturer specifications, and local codes.
- Handle refrigerants in compliance with EPA regulations, including recovery, evacuation, leak detection, repair, and accurate system charging.
- Document all service activities, findings, recommendations, and parts used in digital work order systems with clear, accurate, and timely reporting.
- Communicate professionally with customers, explaining issues, repair options, and best practices to improve system performance and energy savings.
- Collaborate with the Technical & Maintenance team to resolve complex issues, share knowledge, and support continuous improvement of service processes.

- Support training and mentoring of junior technicians by sharing expertise, demonstrating best practices, and promoting a culture of learning and performance excellence.
Required Skills
- Commercial HVAC/R diagnosis and repair
- Preventive and predictive maintenance
- Installation and startup of HVAC/R systems
- Reading blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics
- Refrigeration cycle analysis and superheat/subcooling calculations
- Brazing, soldering, and basic piping skills
- Refrigerant recovery, evacuation, and charging
- Use of digital gauges, combustion analyzers, and diagnostic tools
- Electrical troubleshooting (low and line voltage)
- VFDs, controls, and BMS interface basics
- Safety procedures and OSHA compliance
- Customer service and client communication
- Time management and job documentation
- Use of mobile work order and CMMS systems
- Driving and operating a service vehicle
