Brass Music Teacher

Music & Arts seeks a Brass Music Teacher to provide high-quality private and group brass lessons (trumpet, trombone, etc.) in our retail store. You will assess student skill levels, create personalized lesson plans, teach technique, tone, reading, and musicianship, and prepare students for concerts, auditions, and school ensembles. Collaborate with store staff to support rentals, accessories, and repairs that enhance learning. Maintain accurate schedules and progress notes, communicate regularly with parents and school directors, and help foster a welcoming, inclusive, and student-focused learning environment aligned with our mission.

Responsibilities

• Provide private and small group brass lessons in-store
• Assess student abilities and develop individualized lesson plans
• Teach brass technique, tone production, and music reading
• Prepare students for concerts, auditions, and school ensembles
• Monitor and document student progress and attendance
• Communicate regularly with parents and school directors
• Coordinate with store staff on rentals, repairs, and accessories
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and encouraging classroom environment
• Align teaching with Music & Arts' student-focused mission
• Support occasional recitals or in-store performance events
