Percussion Teacher

Music & Arts is seeking a passionate Percussion Teacher to provide private and small group drum and percussion lessons in our retail lesson studio. You will teach students of varying ages and skill levels, focusing on technique, reading music, rhythm, and performance skills while following company curricula and preparing students for concerts, auditions, and school programs. You will maintain accurate schedules and student progress notes, communicate regularly with parents, collaborate with store staff on student recruitment and recitals, and support a positive, student focused, and inclusive learning environment aligned with Music & Arts' mission.

Responsibilities

• Provide private and small-group percussion and drum lessons to students of varying ages and skill levels
• Teach technique, music reading, rhythm, and performance skills using approved curricula
• Assess student abilities and create lesson plans and goals tailored to individual needs
• Prepare students for recitals, school performances, auditions, and exams
• Maintain accurate schedules, attendance records, and student progress notes
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians about student progress and practice expectations
• Collaborate with store staff to support student recruitment, recitals, and in-store events
• Ensure a safe, inclusive, and motivating learning environment in the lesson studio
