The Center for Family-Friendly Development and Excellence (CFFDE) is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Child Welfare Case Worker to join our team. In this role, you will be central to our mission of promoting family-friendly policies by ensuring the safety and well-being of children and supporting families in need. Your work will directly contribute to our goals by managing cases that involve children's welfare, making critical decisions that affect the lives of children and their families within the community.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments of children's and family's needs to develop appropriate care plans.
  • Coordinate with multiple agencies to secure resources and services for children and families.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of children and family, adjusting care plans as necessary.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of case files and report any issues of neglect, abuse or other significant family problems.
  • Provide testimony in court regarding the child's situation and the care plan recommendations.
  • Conduct home visits periodically and as required to assess child safety and family needs.
  • Participate in training and development sessions to remain current on policy and practice guidelines.

Required Skills

  • Strong understanding of child welfare and family systems theories.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Adept in maintaining detailed records and preparing accurate reports.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism and emotional stability.
