Magruder Eye Institute seeks a Vice President, Revenue Cycle to lead end-to-end revenue operations for our advanced ophthalmology practice. This executive role oversees billing, coding, patient access, prior authorizations, payer contracting, and collections to optimize reimbursement and cash flow while ensuring strict compliance with healthcare regulations. The VP partners with clinical and administrative leaders to support innovative eye care, drives data-informed process improvements, leads and mentors the revenue cycle team, and builds a culture of excellence, transparency, and continuous learning aligned with our patient-first mission.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for the full revenue cycle, from patient access through collections and denial management
- Develop and execute revenue optimization strategies aligned with organizational goals
- Oversee coding, billing, charge capture, and payment posting to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Lead payer contract negotiations and manage relationships with insurance partners
- Implement KPIs, dashboards, and analytics to monitor performance and drive continuous improvement
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and payer regulations, including Medicare and commercial payers
- Collaborate with clinical and administrative leaders to integrate revenue cycle best practices into operations
- Direct, mentor, and develop revenue cycle management teams to support growth and performance
- Drive technology adoption and automation within the revenue cycle (EHR, practice management, RCM tools)
- Develop and manage revenue cycle budgets and forecasts, reporting outcomes to executive leadership and the board
