Icy Strait Point LLC seeks a seasonal Driver Guide to safely transport guests while delivering engaging, informative commentary about Hoonah, Alaska, and Tlingit culture. In this Hospitality & Travel role within our Transportation & Logistics team, you will operate vehicles on scheduled routes, follow all safety and DOT regulations, assist guests with boarding, and provide exceptional customer service. Ideal candidates are friendly, safety-focused, comfortable speaking to groups, and passionate about nature, wildlife, and local culture. Responsibilities
- Safely operate passenger vehicles such as vans or minibuses on scheduled routes and tours.
- Conduct pre trip and post trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance needs.
- Provide engaging, accurate narration about local culture, history, wildlife, and attractions.
- Greet guests, assist with boarding, seating, and disembarking, and handle luggage as needed.
- Follow all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety policies at all times.
- Maintain a clean, comfortable, and welcoming vehicle environment for guests.
- Monitor road, weather, and wildlife conditions and adjust driving and routes as needed.
- Coordinate with dispatch and tour operations staff regarding schedules, delays, and guest counts.
- Educate guests on responsible tourism, environmental stewardship, and respectful cultural behavior.
- Complete basic administrative tasks such as mileage logs, fuel records, and incident reports.
