CAN Community Health seeks an Associate Attorney to support its HIV, hepatitis C, and STI care operations. This role provides legal counsel on healthcare compliance, patient privacy, contracts, partnerships, and risk management for a multi-state nonprofit. The attorney will review and draft agreements, advise on regulatory and employment matters, and assist in policy development. Working closely with clinical, administrative, and leadership teams, the Associate Attorney helps ensure mission-aligned, ethical, and legally sound delivery of compassionate care to diverse, underserved communities.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal counsel on healthcare, regulatory, and nonprofit matters
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and partnership agreements
- Advise on HIPAA, privacy, and patient confidentiality compliance
- Support employment and policy matters across the organization
- Assist with risk management and regulatory investigations or audits
- Collaborate with clinical, administrative, and leadership teams
- Develop and update internal policies and procedures
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda and guidance
