Senior Cost Accountant

Marvin is seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to support our Manufacturing operations within the Finance, Accounting & Administration team. In this people-first, family-owned environment, you will lead product cost modeling, standard cost updates, variance analysis, and inventory valuation across multiple plants. You'll partner with operations to analyze material, labor, and overhead, support budgeting and forecasting, and drive continuous improvement. This role champions accuracy, integrity, and clear communication, providing leadership with insights that improve margins, operational efficiency, and long-term profitability.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and analyze standard costs for products, materials, labor, and overhead
• Prepare and explain manufacturing variance analyses (price, usage, labor, overhead) to plant and finance leadership
• Support annual budgeting and periodic forecasting for manufacturing cost centers
• Perform inventory valuation, reconcile inventory accounts, and support physical counts and audits
• Partner with operations and engineering on cost modeling for new products and process changes
• Identify and lead cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives with cross-functional teams
• Prepare management reports and dashboards on margins, KPIs, and plant performance
• Ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies
• Support capital expenditure analysis and post-implementation reviews
• Mentor junior accounting staff and contribute to best-practice processes and controls
