Mechanic

Interstate Waste Services seeks a Mechanic A to inspect, diagnose, and repair our fleet of waste and recycling trucks. In this safety-first role, you'll perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and braking systems, and complete DOT-compliant inspections. You'll work closely with drivers and operations to keep routes on schedule, using modern diagnostic tools and shop equipment. Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair waste collection trucks and related equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections per schedules
• Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and braking systems
• Complete repair orders and documentation accurately and timely
• Collaborate with drivers and operations to resolve equipment issues
• Follow all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements
• Use diagnostic tools, hand tools, and shop equipment safely
• Support roadside or after-hours repairs when needed
