Local CDL B Truck Driver

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a heavy or tractor-trailer truck on local routes
• Load and unload cargo, verifying loads against shipping papers
• Maintain logs of travel and cargo according to federal and state regulations
• Regularly inspect truck before and after trips, noting any necessary repairs
• Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs
• Manage routes and routines to maximize efficiency and reduce fuel consumption
• Keep communication open with dispatchers and supervisors to report any incidents or discrepancies
• Attend and participate in safety meetings

Required Skills

• Strong driving record with no traffic violations
• Proficiency in operating electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB etc.)
• Ability to handle physical workload
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
